Day two of SEC Media Days concluded yesterday with Georgia, Auburn, Mississippi State, and Vanderbilt all taking the podium throughout the day on Tuesday. Vanderbilt got the day started off with head coach Clark Lea talking about how much it means to have the event hosted in his own school’s backyard as well as trying to get things on track as an alum of Vanderbilt.

Kirby Smart spoke next, and his message was one of “addressing the threat of complacency”, calling it the biggest challenge his program is currently facing. He brushed off questions about his players speeding infractions as well as speaking about how his team is trying to get better every day, even as the 2x defending national champion.

Hugh Freeze made his return to SEC Media Days, this time as the head coach of the Auburn Tigers, and spoke about the challenge of bringing in 42 new players and trying to compete in the SEC this season with an entirely new roster.

Zach Arnett is stepping into a nearly impossible situation as the new head coach of Mississippi State following the tragic death of Mike Leach. At his first SEC Media Days, he spoke about the rivalry with Ole Miss, how his first offseason as head coach has gone, and much more.
