Alabama Lands Second QB in 2023 Class

Alabama has earned a commitment from another top-10 quarterback in the class of 2023 by way of Dylan Lonergan of  Brookwood high school in Snellville, Georgia. Lonergan is considered the 9th QB in the country, just behind his counterpart Eli Holstein of Louisiana, who committed to the Crimson Tide several weeks ago.

In addition to football, Lonergan is a star on the baseball diamond, with a fastball that reaches 93 mph already. He has already said he also plans to play baseball at Alabama, though it remains to be seen if this will actually come to fruition.

Lonergan is overall the 11th commitment in the class of 2023 for Alabama, a class that is clearly trending upwards. He cited Alabama’s ability to develop quarterbacks as well as regular status on the national stage as reasons for committing there over Stanford and South Carolina.

While only one can play at a time, Alabama is certainly becoming quite the pipeline for quarterbacks and it will be fascinating to follow the battles that will take place between Lonergan, Holstein, and quarterbacks that are already on the roster including Jalen Milroe and Ty Simpson.
