Alabama and Auburn MLB Draft Recaps

Alabama baseball player Andrew Pinckney (21) runs bases against Florida at The Hoover Met in Birmingham, AL on Wednesday, May 24, 2023.

Both the Alabama Crimson Tide and Auburn Tigers were able to turn around their seasons this year and qualify for the postseason, with both schools hosting regionals and Alabama even advancing to a Super Regional for the first time in over a decade. Players from each program would end up being rewarded for their efforts by being selected in the MLB Draft, which has just finally wrapped up.

Here is a recap of players drafted from each school:

Alabama and Auburn also had high school players who were committed selected in various rounds, who now have until July 25th to either sign with the team they were selected by, or elect to attend school. Each had a first round pick, with Alabama commit Bryce Eldridge, a first baseman and pitcher being selected 16th to the Giants, and Auburn commit Colt Emerson, a shortstop, going 22nd.

Both players are expected to sign with their MLB teams. Alabama had two additional commits taken later, and Auburn had four, with 2B Kevin McGonigle also expected to sign after being drafted in the second round.
