Auburn Survives in CWS, Will Face Arkansas Tonight

Auburn defeated Stanford 6-2 on Monday afternoon in an elimination game to survive and move on in the College World Series. The Tigers trailed 2-0 until a huge 6th inning where they got one run in via a bases loaded walk before Cole Foster cleared the bases with a deep double off the wall that gave Auburn a 4-2 lead that they never surrendered.

Auburn’s pitching staff combined to give up just eight hits and struck out 16, with star closer Blake Burkhalter coming in for the final 2.1 innings to shut the game down and send the Tigers to the next round.

Auburn will face Arkansas tonight in an elimination game after the Hogs were defeated by red hot Ole Miss 13-5 last night. The Rebels are now one win away from the championship series.
