Ole Miss Wins College World Series
The miracle run for the Ole Miss Rebels has culminated in the first national championship in program history. The Rebs defeated Oklahoma 2-0 in the best-of-three championship series matchup, winning the first game on Saturday by a score of 10-3, and game two on Sunday by a score of 4-2.
Captain Tim Elko had four hits for Ole Miss in game one’s domination, and though he was kept at bay in game two, his teammates picked up the slack, with shortstop Jacob Gonzalez accounting for three hits and two RBIs in Sunday’s clincher.

A national championship has to mean absolutely everything to a fan base in Oxford that is one of the most devoted in college baseball. And the story is equally as sweet. Talks of Mike Bianco on the hot seat as the Rebels struggled throughout the season, barely scraping into the postseason, to being the last team standing in Omaha. One thing is for certain: the party is not gonna stop in Oxford anytime soon.
