Saints quarterback Jameis Winston left yesterday’s practice early with a foot injury that seems to be minor. He is expected to miss a few days of practice and will not play in Saturday’s preseason opener against the Texans.
According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the injury is “nothing to really worry about” and Winston feels good and will be fine. One cannot blame the Saints for being cautious with their starting QB while he is working his way back from a torn ACL, however.
Even though Saints’ QB Jameis Winston left practice Monday with a foot injury, one source said “he’s doing well and feels fine. So nothing to really worry about.”

The Saints were 5-2 before Winston went down last season and the wheels came off. They did sign veteran Andy Dalton as an insurance plan this offseason. Dalton, listed as QB2 on the depth chart, will take the first team reps until Winston is back at practice.
