Joe Bullard Chevrolet Team/Coach of the Week: Vigor

High school football has been in full swing on the Gulf Coast, and the regular season flew by with playoffs coming the last two weeks and with it, exciting round two action across both the area and the entire state.

Every week on the Joe Bullard Chevrolet Pigskin Pete Scoreboard show, our Friday night crew will be naming the Joe Bullard Team/Coach of the Week, given to the team and coach that had the best performance of the week in the face of adversity in our coverage area across the Gulf Coast.

This week, the honor goes to the Vigor Wolves and first year head coach Renardo Jackson after defeating Northside 49-28 on Friday night to advance to the quarter finals for the second straight season after falling last year in the semis to Catholic Montgomery.

Jackson’s Wolves have a 10-2 record after finishing second in the region due to the overtime loss against Williamson last month gave the Lions the region title, and should Vigor be able to handle Central Clay-County this week, it could set up a rematch if Williamson advances as well.

The fifth ranked in the state Wolves host the #5 ranked Central Clay-County team with the chance to get back to the semis in what should be a phenomenal showdown, a game that will be broadcast on WNSP.

Congratulations to the Vigor Wolves and head coach Renardo Jackson on being named this week’s Joe Bullard Chevrolet Team/Coach of the Week and best of luck moving forward the rest of the postseason!
