Now that we are through SEC Media Days, we can officially start the countdown to college football season! In terms of big news from Nashville, there was not a ton outside of Nick Saban saying the QB battle was down to three people (not that we didn’t already know that), Kirby Smart not being asked a ton about the turbulent offseason his Georgia program has had, and a war of words between Lane Kiffin and Paul Finebaum.
There always seems to be this big lull immediately coming off SEC Media Days. It’s built up and built up and we get excited for it, it’s a week of chaos as the “unofficial start of college football season”, then the news cycle slows down dramatically. All that’s left to do now is play ball. But we still have a whole month left until we can do that.
While there was a good bit of chatter all week about how LSU is the new favorite in the SEC West, Alabama was still narrowly picked to win the division by the media and face off against Georgia in the SEC Championship. However, the vote was as close as it’s been in a very long time.
Time will tell just how things go this season, but the anticipation for college football is as high as it’s ever been.
