Saraland quarterback KJ Lacey took some time yesterday to come into the studio and join The Final Drive with Corey LaBounty and Michael Brauner for a 30-minute interview where they discussed the 2022 season, goals for 2023, playing for Jeff Kelly, and much more!
Lacey is a 4-star QB who has received numerous big-time offers since the championship game including Alabama, Auburn, Ole Miss, and Florida State. Him and Ryan Williams formed an unstoppable duo for the Spartans offense last season, with 24 of Lacey’s 40 passing touchdowns going to Williams.
When speaking about personal goals for this season, Lacey stated, “I want to go 15-0. I want to have a perfect season. I want to stack up on my stats from last year. Really I want to set a state scoring record also, that would be awesome.”
It will be fascinating to watch what Saraland is able to do this season as Lacey enters his junior season for the Spartans. They open the season with Tennessee powerhouse Lipscomb Academy, who will be coming down to Mobile to take on the Spartans. Be sure to follow along all season for coverage as Saraland tries to repeat as 6A state champs!
