Mississippi State head coach Mike Leach passed away this morning at the age of 61. Leach will be forever remembered as one of the shining bright spots of the college football world as a coach who truly marched to the beat of his own drum with his curious mind and joyful nature. Leach was as one-of-a-kind as one-of-a-kind gets and will be dearly missed by so many.
One of my very first college football memories that I can recall so vividly was watching Leach’s Texas Tech Red Raiders take down Texas in 2008 on a last second touchdown pass from Graham Harrell to Michael Crabtree. I thank Mike Leach for everything he provided the game of college football over his 35 years plus coaching the game.
Here is a compilation of some of the best Mike Leach moments that people have been sharing on Twitter all day that show just exactly the bright light he brought to college football:
We really could go all day with all of the content Leach provided over his long career. He was a legend in every sense of the word and our condolences are with the Leach family, Mississippi State, and the whole college football world. Rest in Peace to someone who truly did make the game of college football better.
