Joe Bullard Chevrolet Team/Coach of the Week: Williamson

Every week on the Joe Bullard Chevrolet Pigskin Pete Scoreboard show, our Friday night crew will be naming the Joe Bullard Team/Coach of the Week, given to the team and coach that had the best performance of the week in the face of adversity in our coverage area across the Gulf Coast.

For our eighth Friday night of the season, our Joe Bullard Team/Coach of the Week is the Williamson Lions and 3rd year head coach Antonio Coleman. Coleman has the Lions as one of the best teams in the entire county regardless of classification, undefeated at 8-0 and coming off another huge win over UMS Wright!

It’s Williamson’s first win over the Bulldogs since 2007 and has them tied with Vigor at the top of 5A Region 1. Coleman’s defense has been absolutely stifling, allowing just 43 points in the eight games total along with posting shutouts in four of them.

The Lions have their biggest game of the year coming up this week against Vigor in what will likely decide who wins the region and secures home field advantage through multiple rounds of the playoffs. The huge matchup will be played at Ladd-Peebles Stadium this Friday night.

Congratulations to the Williamson Lions and head coach Antonio Coleman on being named this week’s Joe Bullard Chevrolet Team/Coach of the Week!
