New Orleans Saints fans were flying high this week as the team got off to a dominating 1-0 start, defeating their division rival Carolina Panthers by a score of 47-10. What was most encouraging was the effectiveness of the offense under new coordinator Klint Kubiak and how strong of a game Derek Carr played, seeming to turn back the clock by half a decade.

Now, what must be acknowledged with the performance is the fact that the Panthers look like by far the worst team in the entire NFL after a terrible 2023 season and somehow looking even worse in 2024.

It’s quite the step up in competition this week for New Orleans, going from Carolina at home to the Dallas Cowboys on the road. Dallas is coming off a dominating win of their own, having handled the Cleveland Browns 33-17 on the road in week one.

The Cowboys are favored by six points heading into the noon matchup and seem poised to make another statement as they look to get over the hump in the NFC. However, while week one was effectively a tune up game, if New Orleans can take down Dallas, it will send a message to the rest of the league that the Saints have taken the next step and are ready to compete.

The broadcast can be heard starting at 10 a.m. on WNSP, and fans of the Black and Gold will be able to hear the postgame right hear as well!
