We are ripping through high school football season on the Gulf Coast this season and this week marks another edition of the Greer’s Markets Game of the Week on Friday night and taking us out to Theodore as they will face off in their massive region matchup against undefeated Saraland.
Things are starting to heat up as to the playoff picture in 6A. Saraland, St. Paul’s, and Spanish Fort are all but guaranteed to be the top three seeds with the Saints and Toros fighting for the second spot, the final spot in the region is up for grabs really between Theodore and McGill-Toolen. Given that the Yellow Jackets already defeated the Bobcats and the two are tied in record, Theodore likely has to beat Saraland to make the playoffs.
After a rough start to the year, the Bobcats have been playing better as of late and earned a thrilling last-second win last week over Gulf Shores for their third victory in a row.
Saraland on the other hand has been their usual dominant selves and can lock up another 6A Region 1 title with a victory on Friday night. With the Bobcats desperate for a victory, it should be a great matchup.
