Fox Sports Analyst Says DeBoer Could Be Upgrade From Saban

The Alabama Crimson Tide is just getting started in the Kalen DeBoer era, and things have gotten off to a smoother beginning than many anticipated in the first offseason.

From a recruiting standpoint, which was the concer of many around DeBoer, the Tide are on fire and only continuing to rise in rankings.

Nobody questioned the ability of DeBoer as a football mind given the fact that the former Washington head coach and South Dakota native has won everywhere he’s been.

But Fox Sports analyst Joel Klatt had a statement that will raise eyebrows throughout the South.

“Alabama hasn’t skipped a beat without Saban. DeBoer may be an upgrade, and that’s a scary thought for the rest of the country,” Klatt said.

He also dropped a statistic that is so ridiculous it may even be hard to believe. The Georgia Bulldogs over their last 54 games are 50-4 under Kirby Smart. During that same dominant stretch, they are 1-3 against Alabama.

Surely, Kirby Smart was ready for Saban to hang it up.

But by the way things are going, Kalen DeBoer may be his own kind of headache for the rest of the college football world.
