Someone might need to inform CBS Sports that Texas and Oklahoma have been in the SEC for less than a week. In an article that ranked 1-20 the rivalries in the best conference in college football, the site ranked Texas and Oklahoma’s ‘Red River Rivalry’ as the No. 1 rivalry in the SEC.

Nevermind the fact that the game has quite literally never been played as an SEC game to this point, the article ranked the game above the Iron Bowl!

Above the game that is arguably the best rivalry in all of sports, let-alone college sports and just the SEC.

There is no question whatsoever that the best rivalry in the SEC resides in the Yellowhammer State.

It is year round hatred, year round bragging rights, and frankly a year round lifestyle.

Texas and Oklahoma will come in and certainly hopefully in the future can help to add to the tradition and pageantry that is rivalry football in the SEC.

But for now, the newest members of the conference need to step aside and realize that the rivalry they bring pales in comparison to the best rivalry in college football.
