Week ten and the final week of the high school football regular season has come and gone, and the Pigskin Pete crew has named a new Bryant Bank Player of the Week.
This week, the honor goes to Davidson senior running back EJ Harrison after a phenomenal night in the final high school football game of his career. The Warriors defeated B.C. Rain in a 44-42 back and forth thriller and Harrison was an absolutely massive reason as to why.
With 21 carries for 231 yards and five touchdowns, it was a dominant performance from Harrison who simply was not going to let his team lose their final game of the year having already been eliminated from playoff contention.
First year head coach John Lambert spoke on The Opening Kickoff on Monday morning about Harrison’s performance and revealed that he was not even playing fully healthy.
“EJ played an exceptional game,” Davidson head coach said. “The great thing about EJ, he was playing with a strained hamstring and a strained MCL. It was his last game of his senior season and there was no way he was gonna let us take him off the field…he is different from everyone else and we’re so proud of him.”
