The third round of the playoffs in the state of Alabama has come and gone, and the Pigskin Pete crew has named a new Bryant Bank Player of the Week in their FINAL show of the year!
This week, our final Bryant Bank Player of the Week is Vigor Wolves senior running back Carlos Benjamin! Benjamin has been a four-year player for the Wolves and in the final home game of his high school career he showed out. Averaging over 8 yards per carry, Benjamin toted the rock 14 times for 116 yards and two touchdown’s in Vigor’s huge quarterfinal victory over UMS Wright by a score of 41-10.
“Carlos is a special talent, he does things a little bit different and plays real aggressive every night. He’s been good even in the little leagues, he does things a little bit different. We’ve needed him these last three games and he’s taken these last three games on his shoulders and gotten it done for us,” Vigor head coach John McKenzie said on Benjamin’s performance.
The Wolves now will head up north for their biggest test yet to take on Montgomery Catholic in the semifinals with a chance to get back to the state championship.
