Over the past 3 seasons, the 23 year old driver has taken the NASCAR Cup Series by storm. However, Carson Hocevar had yet to secure his first win. That was until Sunday.

Hocevar wheeled the “Intimidente” Chevrolet (made to resemble the Dale Earnhardt Intimidator) sponsored by Chili’s into Victory Lane.

The win was a crowd-pleaser. The grandstands reveled as the 6-foot-5, Chili’s sponsored, Twitch streaming, meme posting Hocevar dished out a soon to be iconic celebration. Hanging from the window, Carson Hocevar burnt it down and waved and fist pumped to the fans.

As they say, you don’t win Talladega, you survive it. Carson Hocevar did just that. Surviving an incident on lap 115 that ended days for a handful of drivers and left the majority of the field with damage. The #77 also kept it straight in the late stages of the race when he got tangled with Erik Jones the driver of the #43 Doritos Camry from Legacy Motor Club.

It all led to a thrilling 3 lap shootout with Chris Buescher of RFK Racing, Hocevar had help in a fellow Chevy with the #48 of Alex Bowman behind him to push.

Sunday was the first win of Hocevar’s career coming in his 91st start.

The NASCAR Cup Series now heads to Texas Motor Speedway for the WŨRTH 400 scheduled for May 3rd.
