Joe Bullard Chevrolet Team/Coach of the Week: LeFlore

High school football is very much in full swing on the Gulf Coast!

Every week on the Joe Bullard Chevrolet Pigskin Pete Scoreboard show, our Friday night crew will be naming the Joe Bullard Team/Coach of the Week, given to the team and coach that had the best performance of the week in the face of adversity in our coverage area across the Gulf Coast.

This week on our seventh Friday night of the season, the crew gave the honor to the LeFlore Rattlers and first year head coach Michael Perry after what was an absolutely massive victory over BC Rain to snap a six game losing streak against the Red Raiders.

Even more important than that is the fact that the win got the Rattlers to 2-2 in 5A Region 1 and give themselves a realistic chance to potentially reach the playoffs. Sitting behind Vigor, Williamson, and UMS Wright, LeFlore is hanging onto the No. 4 seed which would put them in the postseason for the first time since 2013.

Up next is another huge home game against Elberta this week in which the Rattlers will try to get above .500 in region play before they go on the road against Citronelle for a game which could decide that final playoff spot.

Congratulations to the LeFlore Rattlers and head coach Michael Perry on being named this week’s Joe Bullard Chevrolet Team/Coach of the Week and best of luck the rest of the way in their 2025 season!
