Every week on the Tobias & Comer Coaches’ Corner, Mark and Lee will talk to a local area high school coach to get the scoop on what’s going on with their team, how our local schools are faring on their respective pushes to bring Blue Maps back to the Gulf Coast, and everything in between.
You can catch all of it right here on WNSP.com or live during The Opening Kickoff.
In this week’s edition, we caught up with Faith Academy Baseball coach Matt Seymour fresh off his Rams moving on in the playoffs after taking two from Headland to advance.
“We were able to battle the rain and come out there with a couple of wins,” Seymour said of what was a very wet weekend in the state.
Asked about the makeup of his team, Seymour clearly thinks this group is made of the right stuff to make a very deep playoff run.
“These guys are worried about one thing and that’s playing ball,” he said. “They get their work done and they’re good kids who know what they’re supposed to do, but when that bell rings they’re ready to go and I think they are ready for the next round.
“Each person brings something to the table to help our team win. I think the biggest thing is being a team and pulling for each other, and all successful teams have been able to do that including this one.”
Faith will take on Demopolis at the end of this week starting on Friday to try to keep on advancing at home with games on Friday and Saturday.
