Every week on the Tobias & Comer Coaches’ Corner, Mark and Lee will talk to a local area high school coach to get the scoop on what’s going on with their team, how our local schools are faring on their respective pushes to bring Blue Maps back to the Gulf Coast, and everything in between.
You can catch all of it right here on WNSP.com or live during The Opening Kickoff.
This week, we caught up with Davidson Warriors Baseball head coach Zach Presnall as his team tries to find a little bit of momentum amid what has been an up and down 6-11 start to the season. With impressive wins over teams like St. Luke’s, Escambia, Baldwin County and others, the Warriors are getting geared up for area play.
“Lately I’ve seen us make a good progression towards limiting damage and changing the momentum of the game,” Presnall said. “I can see us moving in that direction ahead of a huge portion of the season. We’ve gotta limit damage that’s the biggest thing. We have five seniors and they play a big role in what drives the team, but mainly we are a younger team and very junior driven. I see a lot of good things happening with Davidson in the future.”
The Warriors will take on Saraland at home on Monday with area play starting next week against Mary G. Montgomery after matchups with Excel, Williamson, and Citronelle.
