There’s no end in sight in Alabama’s dominance over Tennessee

Anybody who follows college football in this state knows by this point that Tennessee hasn’t beaten Alabama since before the iPhone was invented.
But you might not realize just how dominating the Crimson Tide has been over the Volunteers during the current 10-game winning streak.
Only three times during the streak has the final score been decided by 14 points or less. Five times in the last seven years the Tide has won by more than 30 points.
A list of Nick Saban’s best wins at Alabama would not include any game involving Tennessee, but Lane Kiffin’s best win with the Vols was the 12-10 loss in Tuscaloosa in 2009.
Butch Jones’ first win over Alabama would be the biggest of his career, but the odds are long that Jones will get more than one more shot at beating the Tide.
Despite all the Alabama success, the current Alabama streak includes only one win by as many as 36 points, the betting line for Saturday’s game. That was last year, and there’s no indication this rivalry is going to be any more competitive anytime soon.
