MOBILE, AL – Spanish Fort High School rising senior D.J. James announced his commitment to Mississippi State on Twitter Saturday night.

According to James, he wanted to focus on improving his team in high school this upcoming season and not have to worry about the recruiting process.

James plays cornerback for Spanish Fort, and as a junior, he grabbed three interceptions. As a sophomore, the rising prospect caught six interceptions and returned four of them for touchdowns.

The latest 247 composite rankings list James as the No. 24 recruit out of Alabama for 2019.

Signing day is still a year away, but James said he intends to focus on the task at hand.
