South Alabama fresh off a sweep of the Georgia slate of the conference schedule, looks to Thursday night’s matchup against the visiting Red Wolves of Arkansas State. The Jags who currently sit at 11-4 on the season and 3-0 in Sun Belt play welcome a fellow 11-4 team to the Mitchell Center in the Red Wolves of Arkansas State.

The Jags are led by the trio of Myles Corey, Barry Dunning and John Broom. Corey currently leads the conference in scoring but is closely tailed by Arkansas Sate’s Taryn Todd. Dunning, a former 4 star recruit, Gatorade Player of the Year, and Mr. Basketball is currently riding a 9 game streak of scoring in double figures including a 22 point outing against Georgia State on January 2nd. John Broom who redshirted a year ago is just settling in to his stride as a part of the Richie Riley system. Broom is currently 3rd in the Sun Belt in steals per game and emphasized the importance of defense and rebounding to this team when he joined SportsDrive.

For Arkansas State, the Red Wolves are led in scoring by Taryn Todd as well as a familiar conference foe for Richie Riley’s Jags, Kobe Julien. Julien transferred to Jonesboro in April from fellow SBC member Louisiana where he was a part of the 2022 Sun Belt Champion Cajuns.

For both teams this game has increased importance early in the conference slate due to the new Sun Belt Tournament format.

Tip-Off is set for 7pm Thursday at USA’s Mitchell Center with tickets for the contest available from the Jaguar Ticket Office via web at USAJaguars.com, Phone at 252-641-1USA (1872) or at the gate.
