College football season is just a couple of months away, and fans around the South are starting to get excited for the best time of year.

As the season rapidly approaches, much of the discussion as of late has revolved around the College Football Playoff and whether or not it will expand further after this season.

In a graphic shared by the Next Round, ESPN’s Football Power Index rating system broke down every team’s chances to make the Playoff, and there are some interesting results:

Unsurprisingly, Texas leads the pack with a near 84% chance of making it back to the Playoff, while Georgia is second with a near 79% chance.

After that, the only other team with a 50% chance or greater is Alabama with a 66% shot.

After the Tide, there is a major drop-off with four teams in the 30s (Tennessee, Texas A&M, Ole Miss, and LSU) before Auburn comes in next with a 21% chance.

The Tigers come in ahead of teams like South Carolina and Florida, who both had great seasons last year.

It won’t be long before we see these odds play out on the field and get a look at what these teams actually look like in the fall.
