Kane Wommack and the South Alabama Jaguars have secured yet another local commitment, this time by way of Mary G. Montgomery quarterback Jared Hollins. Hollins is the 9th recruit in the class of 2024 for Wommack and the 4th from this area, with St. Paul’s OL Asher Hale, Theodore DL Kevin Norwood, and Foley OL Logan Joellenbeck already having committed.

Hollins, who is listed as an athlete, but is being recruited to South Alabama as a QB, made his announcement to commit to South over schools such as Boston College and Marshall via Twitter:

Hollins was instrumental in turning around the MGM program this season under first-year head coach Zach Golson. The Vikings made the playoffs with a 6-5 record after going winless in 2021. Hollins threw for over 2,000 yards, 21 touchdowns, and just two interceptions.

It will be fascinating to see what Hollins and the Vikings can now accomplish in his senior year and year two of the Golson era. But no matter what happens at MGM this year, Jared Hollins is staying at home at the next level.
