MOBILE, AL (WNSP) – Alabama head football coach Nick Saban was in Mobile on Tuesday for the annual Team Focus charity event “A Night with Nick Saban.”
Just before he held a press conference he sat down with WNSP’s own Randy Kennedy and Tracy Turner of Talkin’ Spring Football. Randy spoke with the 5-time National Champion head coach (1 with LSU) about the event, as well as the Alabama A-Day Spring Game on April 22 and its results.
“You want me to be honest or you want me to tell you what I ought to say publicly?” Saban said, joking about how he’s known for being tight-lipped with the media and how the process of spring practice is mainly just a tool for the coaches.
“Publicly, you never have a bad spring practice,” he said. “Everything’s good,… but as a coach I’m seldom satisfied with what we need to do and the progress we need to make. You know, people need to learn how to self-correct. They need to learn how to learn from the mistakes they make and be able to not be frustrated when things to don’t go their way.”
