Inside the Dome: Saints have Chance to go Above .500

Every Thursday right here you can read Inside the Dome, where we’ll get into a different topic on the Saints/the NFL as a whole, break down the Black and Gold, and talk about where things stand in the shield. In this week’s edition, the Saints got a big win last week over Indy and now have a golden opportunity against the Bears to get to 5-4 as they sit tied for the division lead:

Despite the tough start to the season for New Orleans, we knew before the season that even if things didn’t go great, the NFC South was weak enough that the Saints should be able to have a great chance to win the division.

And while it has been a rocky season thus far for Derek Carr, he responded last week in Indianapolis with his best game as a Saint. Carr threw for over 300 yards on 19/27 passing and two touchdowns with no interceptions.

Now, a home matchup with the lowly Bears in which the Saints are an eight point favorite presents a golden opportunity to get to 5-4. The Saints and Falcons seem to be separating themselves as the two best teams in the division.

Atlanta faces off against Minnesota this week, and the Saints and Falcons will play for the first time this season two weeks from now from now in Atlanta.

But this week, the Saints must handle their business against Chicago in a game New Orleans really should win.

Prediction: Saints 34 Bears 16
