We are ripping through high school football season on the Gulf Coast this season and this week marks another edition of the Greer’s Markets Game of the Week on Friday night and taking us out to Mobile Christian as they will face off in their massive region matchup against Orange Beach.
The Mobile Christian Leopards are having a rough go of it right now on the heels of their 3A state title with the jump to 4A and a new head coach following the retirement of Ronnie Cottrell. The Leopards are currently 2-5 and have lost their last four games in a row including a 45-35 heartbreaker last week to St. Michael. The good news is that the team is still 2-2 in the region and still in play for the postseason.
This is a huge opportunity with Orange Beach sitting at 3-1 in the region as the winner of this matchup will jump into the driver’s seat to make the playoffs behind Jackson and St. Michael. The Makos are 5-3 overall and coming off a loss last week to Jackson, who is seemingly beating everyone handily in the region.
This has become a must win for both teams, and it all gets going Friday night on WNSP!
