It’s hard to believe, but we’re already in the final week of the regular season on the Gulf Coast and this week marks another edition of the Greer’s Markets Game of the Week on Friday night and taking us out to St. Luke’s as they will face off in their big non-region matchup against Cottage Hill.
The Wildcats are already headed to the playoffs in 2A under first year head coach Joe Gilmore, and while Cottage Hill has had a rough season in 3A, the two schools always want to beat each other in a rivalry that is very closely contested all time. St. Luke’s is 5-7 in their history against the Warriors, falling 25-13 in the edition of the game last year.
St. Luke’s is currently holding onto the fourth spot in Class 2A Region 1 at 3-3 and one game ahead of Chickasaw, but a win over the Chieftains last week locked up a playoff spot. The Wildcats are locked into the four seed as they sit a game behind Washington County but lost to them earlier in the season.
Cottage Hill will fight hard to try to earn their third win of the season having already been eliminated from playoff contention.
