The Opening Kickoff was on the road on Friday morning for our third stop on WNSP’s 2025 Dr. Christopher Mullenix High School Gameday Series, this time marking the second week of the season!
We headed out to UMS Wright to talk to new head coach Sam Williams about what it’s been like taking over for the legendary Terry Curtis, his team’s narrow defeat last week against St. Paul’s, and their Friday night showdown on the docket on the road against LeFlore to kick off region play.

Mark, Lee and Michael spoke with Williams along with senior stars Perry Hand and Thomas Portacci, getting the player perspective on the game as well.
