According to the latest Vegas odds, Bryce Young is now the heavy betting favorite to be the #1 overall pick in the NFL Draft in less than two weeks in Kansas City. The Carolina Panthers, who hold the pick after trading up 8 spots from the #9 spot with the Chicago Bears, undoubtedly made the move for a QB.
Carolina was rumored to be very interested in CJ Stroud of Ohio State, but with the odds now sitting at Young as a heavy -1000 favorite, it would be a serious surprise if the Alabama signal caller does not become Nick Saban’s first ever #1 overall selection. While there are concerns about his size, no other QB in this draft has had the production and displayed the ability to play the position that Young has, and it is likely going to pay off for him.
Don’t be shocked if Alabama gets picks 1 and 2 as well, as Adam Schefter has been reporting that the Houston Texans could take a close look at Will Anderson Jr. with the second pick in the draft rather than selecting a QB who isn’t Bryce Young. A school has not had both of the first two picks since Nebraska accomplished this in 1984, so it would certainly be historic.
