The No. 4-seeded Auburn Tigers are headed to the Super Regionals after clinching their regional title with an impressive weekend of baseball at Plainsman Park.
Not only are the Tigers now two wins away from Omaha, but they will get the chance to host a Super Regional next weekend for the first time in program history.
Auburn has made it to the College World Series six times and twice under Butch Thompson, however this would be the first time they get there in front of their own fans.
With a 3-0 record and rather comfortable victories over Central Connecticut State, Stetson, and North Carolina State, Ike Irish put the exclamation point on the weekend with a massive blast over the Wolfpack to put things out of reach and avoid a decider on Monday:

Now facing off against the Sun Belt champion and No. 13 overall seed Coastal Carolina, Auburn has quite the challenge on its hands as it tries to defeat a team that has been one of the hottest in the nation down the stretch.
The Chanticleers went 51-11 this season including a current 21-game winning streak and won both the regular season and tournament Sun Belt titles with an elite pitching staff that boasts a combined ERA of 3.28. They present quite the test, and itβs going to take everything the Tigers have in order to advance back to Omaha.
A special season for Auburn can culminate in immortality if they are at their best next weekend, but regardless, the Tigers have already made team history.
