Though we are only on the cusp of the month of May, football season is going to be here before we know it in the state of Alabama and across the nation.

With the conclusion of spring practice and a better picture of the kind of rosters teams are going to be rolling out, it’s much easier now to make an educated guess as to how teams are going to be set up to perform going into the regular season.

In today’s day and age of college sports with roster turnover as prevalent as it is, it’s no small miracle that both the Alabama Crimson Tide and Auburn Tigers did not lose any major pieces to the portal this spring.

As a result and with each set up with talented rosters, both the Tide and Tigers fell within the top-15 of Andy Staples of On3’s post spring preseason top-25:

Alabama comes in at No. 7 in the country but No. 2 in the SEC while Auburn came in at No. 13 and No. 6 in the SEC.

Interestingly, Staples considered Texas to be his No. 1 team in the nation before Notre Dame, Clemson, and a host of Big 10 teams clog up the space ahead of Alabama.

With Georgia coming in at No. 8, Florida at No. 10, and South Carolina at No. 12, the Tigers fall a bit behind their conference counterparts but still impressively high.

Other SEC teams ranked include the LSU Tigers at No. 15, Ole Miss at No. 19, and Tennessee at No. 21.

Preseason rankings being made by major outlets just means we are one step closer to football season and it won’t be long before teams are ready to hit the gridiron for the 2025 season.
