Joe Bullard Chevrolet Team/Coach of the Week: Davidson

High school football has been in full swing on the Gulf Coast, and the regular season has flown by with playoffs already on the horizon this week.

Every week on the Joe Bullard Chevrolet Pigskin Pete Scoreboard show, our Friday night crew will be naming the Joe Bullard Team/Coach of the Week, given to the team and coach that had the best performance of the week in the face of adversity in our coverage area across the Gulf Coast.

This week on our final regular season Friday night of the season, the honor went to the Davidson Warriors and head coach John Lambert. Davidson defeated B.C. Rain 28-19 on Thursday night to close their season on a high note behind QB Micah Spivey’s two touchdowns (one each rushing and passing).

In what was a brutally difficult 7A Region 1 this season, the Warriors will fall short of the playoffs, but with three wins in their final four games, they were able to get to 5-5 on the season to finish in 5th place.

After a 3-7 2024 season for Lambert in his first year, clearly steps have been taken and progress has been made. Next year, Davidson is going to be a team to watch out for after a very impressive campaign.

Congratulations to the Davidson Warriors and head coach John Lambert on being named this week’s Joe Bullard Chevrolet Team/Coach of the Week and best of luck moving forward into the 2026 season!
