The Crimson Tide will now have a chance to make it to Omaha for the first time since 1999 if they can upset #1 seed Wake Forest in a 3-game series in Winston-Salem.<\/p>\n<p>Alabama won its first game in the regional by way of their first walk-off win of the season against Nicholls State on Friday, with Jim Jarvis delivering a single in the bottom of the 9th to score the winning run.<\/p>\n<p>Saturday&#8217;s matchup against Troy was another back and forth thriller, with Alabama taking the lead in the 9th inning via a throwing error and then being able to hold on and close it out 11-8. The clinching game of the regional, which was delayed until after 9:30 p.m., offered much less drama, as the Tide closed out Boston College with an 8-0 victory.<\/p>\n<p>The bad news for Alabama is that Wake Forest is looking the part of the #1 team in the country. The Demon Deacons defeated George Mason 12-0 in game one, crushed Maryland 21-6 in game two, then took down George Mason again 15-1 in the final game of the Winston-Salem regional.<\/p>\n<p>Wake Forest will be by far the biggest challenge of the season for Alabama, but the Crimson Tide are playing like a confident bunch who believe they are capable of defeating anyone.
