South Alabama scored touchdowns on four of their first six drives, jumping out to a 26-7 lead en route to a convincing 38-24 road victory over host Central Michigan.<\/p>\n
The Jaguars scoring barrage started with Carter Bradley connecting with Demarcus Thomas-Jones for a 16 touchdown pass, but South Alabama missed the extra point. Central Michigan came right back with a Lew Nichols 5yd TD run, the PAT was good and CMU took a 7-6 lead.<\/p>\n
Here is where the game turned.\u00a0 <\/span>Bradley led the Jaguars on a 10-plays, 65 yard drive, capped of by a La\u2019Damian Webb 3-yard touchdown run. This time the extra point was good and South Alabama led 13-7.<\/p>\n On the ensuing kickoff, Central Michigan fumbled the ball and it landed right into South Alabama\u2019s Trey Kiser\u2019s hands.\u00a0 <\/span>Just three plays later Bradley found Devin Viosin wide open in the end zone with the Jaguars scoring a pair of touchdowns just :12 apart.<\/p>\n Bradley, the Toledo transfer, returned to the MAC and was impressive. He finished 26-42 with 354 yards and 3 touchdowns.\u00a0 <\/span>He also rushed 5 times for 38 yards.\u00a0 <\/span>Bradley spread the ball around, completing passes to seven different receivers.\u00a0 <\/span>Jalen Wayne led the Jags with 10 catches and 98 yards, while Caullin Lacy had 97 yards on five catches.<\/p>\n Running Back La\u2019Damian Webb had another solid performance.\u00a0 <\/span>One week after rushing for 98 yards on 16 carries and scoring twice against Nicholls State, Webb ran it 20 times for 95 yards and two more touchdowns.\u00a0 <\/span>He also caught a couple of passes for 30 yards.<\/p>\n The 2-0 South Alabama Jaguars will head west to play the UCLA Bruins next week in Pasadena, CA before retuning home to take on Louisiana Tech, September 24.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n https:\/\/youtu.be\/YporC7BqzxY<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
