And because Nick Saban does not go out of his way to help the projected starters.<\/p>\n<p>Alabama\u2019s spring game will feature Jalen Hurts and the rest of the first-string offense against the first-string defense.<\/p>\n<p>Jones and the second-string offense will face the second defense.<\/p>\n<p>For Jones, that means he\u2019s going to be playing behind a second-team offensive line that would be one of the best in the SEC if they weren\u2019t stuck behind even better players on the depth chart. But on defense, there aren\u2019t many proven playmakers beyond the standouts on the first unit.<\/p>\n<p>That means Jones should have time to operate and show how well he\u2019s progressed during his redshirt season.<\/p>\n<p>Of course, Jones isn\u2019t expected to challenge Hurts or Tua Tagovailoa for meaningful snaps in the fall.
