{"id":428169,"date":"2018-02-23T11:13:59","date_gmt":"2018-02-23T17:13:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/wnsp.com\/wordpress\/?p=428169"},"modified":"2018-02-23T11:13:59","modified_gmt":"2018-02-23T17:13:59","slug":"im-more-concerned-about-my-bracket-than-the-latest-ncaa-scandal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wnsp.com\/wordpress\/im-more-concerned-about-my-bracket-than-the-latest-ncaa-scandal\/","title":{"rendered":"I\u2019m more concerned about my bracket than the latest NCAA scandal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/wnsp.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/NutsBolts-2-23.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-large wp-image-428173\" src=\"http:\/\/wnsp.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/NutsBolts-2-23-1024x384.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"384\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m supposed to care about this widespread college basketball scandal, right?<br \/>\nWe\u2019re all supposed to be outraged and shocked that meals and clothes are provided, that parents take loans based on the fact that their sons are in line to become NBA millionaires?<\/p>\n<p>But I\u2019m not.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m sorry, but I already knew these things were going on, even if I didn\u2019t know all the details outlined in today\u2019s Yahoo Sports story.<br \/>\nWouldn\u2019t it be more of a shock that a blue-chip high school basketball player who had legally had his expenses paid for to fly across the country to an elite AAU tournament and legally received shoes and clothes associated with that tournament would then go out for a $50 meal with a friendly guy who wanted to pick up the check and just happens to be affiliated with a financial advisor?<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s why I\u2019m against Louisville and Rick Pitino yet I can\u2019t muster any outrage at any of the other programs named in the Yahoo story or the other stories about this scandal. Pitino and Louisville are accused of funneling shoe company money to a prospect in order to convince him to sign with Louisville instead of the competition. That\u2019s cheating.<br \/>\nWith all these other players, there was no competitive advantage for one school over another. Players were simply taking money independent of which college they chose.<\/p>\n<p>I know this is the big story of the day. I should be outraged.
