All three trips produced an Iron Bowl classic.<br \/>\nThe Tide was undefeated in 1989, the first time Alabama ever visited Auburn. Alabama was a slight favorite, but even before the opening kickoff there was little doubt that Auburn was not going to lose that historic game.<br \/>\nIn 2009, Greg McElroy wrote his name in Iron Bowl history by directing the Tide on a 15-play, 7-minute drive that ended in the winning touchdown with 1:24 remaining in the game. The 26-21 win was pivotal in Alabama\u2019s first national championship in 17 years.<br \/>\nThe last undefeated Alabama team to visit Auburn in 2013 was on the bad end of perhaps the most memorable final play in college football history, the Kick-6 return for the Auburn win.<br \/>\nThat brings us to 2017. Even more so than 1989, 2009 and 2013, this game appears to be a matchup for the ages.<br \/>\nAuburn may be the hottest team in the country.
