Of course, one of those outstanding games was not what CBS had to offer on the SEC Game of the Week.
Brad Nessler and Gary Danielson are supposed to have access to the best teams and best matchups in the SEC every week. But, in what’s becoming a trend this season, the CBS game featured a 42-7 Georgia blowout over Florida.
That lopsided win should have been expected. In the eight SEC Games of the Week on CBS, the average score has been 36-10. That includes wins by Alabama by 59 over Vanderbilt and Georgia’s 41-0 shutout of Tennessee the following week.
Clearly, whoever’s in charge of scheduling at CBS Sports needs to tighten up.
So what does CBS do this week? It schedules a Georgia-Alabama doubleheader. Georgia is a 25-point favorite over South Carolina. Alabama and LSU will play in the prime time CBS game, with the Tide installed as a 22-point favorite.
Come to think of it, maybe the problem isn’t with CBS at all. It could be that the SEC needs more teams that can compete with the league’s elite.
Who do you think needs to Tighten Up? Call in and the best and most entertaining suggestion will win a $25 gift card from Wintzell’s Oyster House.
For Threaded Fasteners, I’m Randy Kennedy with Tighten Up.

http://wnsp.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/TightenUp103017-2.mp3

Last Saturday was a glorious day for college football games in the coveted 2:30 kickoff slot.
