The Alabama Crimson Tie is going to be under the brightest spotlight possible this week with a\u00a0standalone College Football Playoff\u00a0game on Friday night on the road against the Oklahoma Sooners.<\/p>\n

Having already lost to Oklahoma this year as well as last year, it\u2019s a third chance at the Sooners for Alabama and their first crack at the expanded CFP with a trip to the Rose Bowl on the line.<\/p>\n

This may be the most significant challenge\u00a0Kalen DeBoer\u00a0and his team have faced over the last two years and the one with the highest stakes, but it does not seem like the team is letting that fact phase it. One of Alabama\u2019s most important leaders in star\u00a0linebacker and Mobile native Deontae Lawson\u00a0talked about the challenge during Monday\u2019s media availability.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe know it\u2019s going to be a hostile environment just like any other road game that we\u2019re playing in,\u201d Lawson said on his expectations for the road crowd in Norman. \u201cWe know that it\u2019s everyone\u2019s Super Bowl. We\u2019ve got to go in there with a warrior mentality. We\u2019ve got to be ready for war for all four quarters and do everything we can in preparation until Friday and get here ready to start fast.\u201d<\/p>\n

In order for this battered and bruised Alabama team to have a chance on Friday night, Lawson is just one of many who will have to play a great game. Mentally, it sounds like the mindset is in the right place for both him and the team.<\/p>\n
