{"id":1183764,"date":"2025-12-05T10:40:00","date_gmt":"2025-12-05T16:40:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wnsp.com\/wordpress\/?p=1183764"},"modified":"2025-12-05T10:40:00","modified_gmt":"2025-12-05T16:40:00","slug":"deboer-strongly-denies-and-shuts-down-absurd-penn-state-rumors","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wnsp.com\/wordpress\/deboer-strongly-denies-and-shuts-down-absurd-penn-state-rumors\/","title":{"rendered":"DeBoer Strongly Denies and Shuts Down Absurd Penn State Rumors"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Alabama Crimson Tide is headed to the\u00a0SEC Championship this weekend, but over the course of the last week or so, much of the discourse surrounding\u00a0the team has been about its head coach.<\/p>\n<p>Headed into the Iron Bowl, the noise surrounding\u00a0Kalen DeBoer\u00a0and him possibly being\u00a0interested in the open job at Penn State\u00a0dominated the headlines and created speculation, despite nobody from Alabama\u2019s side of the media reporting on it.<\/p>\n<p>From Penn State\u2019s side, it was reported that DeBoer was a top target and could be pulled away from Tuscaloosa had the Tide lost the Iron Bowl and been eliminated from playoff contention, but instead, Alabama won and clinched their spot in Atlanta.<\/p>\n<p>When DeBoer was asked about it on Thursday, just days prior to his biggest game at Alabama so far, he took a pretty strong stance \u2014 which brings into question just how real the noise actually was.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">&#8220;We are extremely happy at Alabama. &#8230; There&#8217;s never been any link, any conversation, any interest either way. There\u2019s never been any link, there\u2019s never been any conversation, there\u2019s never been any interest either way, so I\u2019m glad we can put that to bed right now.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Clearly, DeBoer is focused on the task at hand, and Penn State \u2014 who still has yet to fill their opening, despite almost every other job being filled by this point \u2014 is going to have to look elsewhere.<\/p>\n<p>Sure, coaches who are on the cusp of leaving have not been totally truthful before, however, the DeBoer rumors simply never made any sense.
