It’s hard to believe, but we’re already in the final week of the regular season on the Gulf Coast and this week marks another edition of the Greer\u2019s Markets Game of the Week on Thursday night and taking us out to undefeated Vigor as they will face off in their big non-region matchup against Baker.<\/p>\n

The Wolves have had a spectacular season, sitting at 9-0 and on top of Class 5A Region 1. With a playoff spot already locked up, the team is trying to preserve their undefeated season as they prepare to welcome Class 7A Baker into town. Baker also will be in the playoffs regardless of results and has had a great season at 7-2, but will try to enter the playoffs on a high note.<\/p>\n

Ironically, one of Baker’s two losses came against a lower non-region opponent, Jackson who is considered one of the best teams in the state regardless of classification. They also fell to Mary G. Montgomery two weeks ago in an overtime heartbreaker to give the Vikings another region title and got back on the right track against Fairhope last week.<\/p>\n

Vigor meanwhile has given up a ridiculous just 42 points on the entire season with a defense that has carried them the whole way. It should be a great battle in Prichard!<\/p>\n
