In\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbssports.com\/college-football\/news\/sec-football-rivalry-rankings-where-texas-oklahoma-feuds-stand-as-longhorns-sooners-join-in-2024-season\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">an article that ranked 1-20 the rivalries<\/a>\u00a0in the best conference in college football, the site ranked Texas and Oklahoma\u2019s \u2018Red River Rivalry\u2019 as the No. 1 rivalry in the SEC.<\/p>\n<p>Nevermind the fact that the game has quite literally never been played as an SEC game to this point, the article ranked the game\u00a0above the Iron Bowl!<\/p>\n<p>Above the game that is arguably the best rivalry in all of sports, let-alone college sports and just the SEC.<\/p>\n<p>There is no question whatsoever that the best rivalry in the SEC resides in the Yellowhammer State.<\/p>\n<p>It is year round hatred, year round bragging rights, and frankly a year round lifestyle.<\/p>\n<p>Texas and Oklahoma will come in and certainly hopefully in the future can help to add to the tradition and pageantry that is rivalry football in the SEC.<\/p>\n<p>But for now, the newest members of the conference need to step aside and realize that the rivalry they bring pales in comparison to the best rivalry in college football.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<div class=\"mh-excerpt\"><p>William Purnell\/Icon Sportswire Someone might need to inform CBS Sports that Texas and Oklahoma have been in the SEC for less than a week.
