Selection Sunday has came and gone, and Alabama and Auburn have learned their collective fates as we head into the best postseason in sports.<\/p>\n
The Tide and Tigers landed 4 seeds and, though Auburn is in the East region and Alabama in the West region, both teams will open in Spokane, Wash., this weekend.<\/p>\n
Auburn, who is coming off an\u00a0SEC Tournament title in Nashville, finds itself in what is on paper the most difficult of the four regions featuring No. 1 overall seed UConn, No. 2 seed Iowa State, No. 3 seed Illinois, and No. 5 seed San Diego State.<\/p>\n
Alabama, meanwhile, got a somewhat favorable draw with North Carolina as its No. 1, Arizona as its No. 2, Baylor as its No. 3, and St. Mary\u2019s as No. 5.<\/p>\n
Auburn will take on the 13th seeded Ivy League champion Yale and, if it can defeat the Bulldogs, will take on the winner of San Diego State-UAB in the second round.<\/p>\n
Alabama will take on 13-seed College of Charleston in the first round and would face the winner of St. Mary\u2019s-Grand Canyon in the Round of 32.<\/p>\n
Both teams tip off Friday: Auburn at 3:15 p.m. CST and Alabama at 6:35 p.m. CST.<\/p>\n
