Each week at the start of the Road to the Alabama High School State Championships, Mark and Lee will feature an \u201cAthlete of the Week\u201d right here!<\/span><\/p>\n

With our Road to the Alabama High School State Championships now fully underway, the second stop the Opening Kickoff made was at McGill-Toolen Catholic High School, where our Athlete of the Week is senior Reagan Knight!<\/span><\/p>\n

Knight is a 6-time varsity letter recipient, <\/span>3-time All County, and 2-time 1st team all-state recipient.<\/span><\/p>\n

Last season, she was named as the Crichton Optimist Club\u2019s Player of the Week. <\/span>She was a national league player for Union10 and was also rostered for Union 10FC\u2019s women\u2019s team<\/span><\/p>\n

Not just a soccer player, Reagan last year was on the inaugural flag football team and represented Alabama at ODP regional camp.<\/span><\/p>\n

Reagan is just as impressive off the field, as she is a member of the Ambassador Club, Spanish Club, Social Justice Club and Friends of Exceptional Children.<\/span><\/p>\n

Reagan plans to attend Spring Hill College here in Mobile where she will play collegiate soccer and will major in Nursing.<\/span><\/p>\n

She joined the Opening Kickoff on Friday morning and spoke about her senior year and what it means to her to be capping off her career as a Yellow Jacket pursuing a state championship.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIt means a lot. We\u2019re putting everything on the line, we want this more than anyone else does. Being able to go all the way no matter what would just mean a lot,\u201d Knight said.<\/span><\/p>\n

Asked about what it means to be the Player of the Week, she said it means a lot to her as a defender to be recognized.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIt makes me really happy. Usually defenders don\u2019t get noticed or recognized so I\u2019m happy they\u2019re finally getting their recognition,\u201d she said.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
