{"id":1004463,"date":"2023-11-01T09:01:51","date_gmt":"2023-11-01T15:01:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wnsp.com\/wordpress\/?p=1004463"},"modified":"2023-11-01T09:12:33","modified_gmt":"2023-11-01T15:12:33","slug":"across-the-south-breaking-down-scenarios-in-the-sec-west","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wnsp.com\/wordpress\/across-the-south-breaking-down-scenarios-in-the-sec-west\/","title":{"rendered":"Across the South: Breaking Down Scenarios in the SEC West"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"image_caption\">(Photo via Joe Robbins\/Icon Sportswire)<\/div>\n<p>Every Wednesday right here you can read\u00a0<em>Across the South<\/em>, where we\u2019ll get into a different topic on the SEC, break down the biggest matchups of the previous week, preview the coming week\u2019s slate, and talk about where things stand in the best conference in the land!<\/p>\n<p>In this week&#8217;s edition, while much of the talk has been on the Alabama LSU matchup (understandably so), the Ole Miss Rebels have a huge matchup themselves, taking on Texas A&amp;M at home in Oxford with only a 3-point spread:<\/p>\n<p>If Alabama were to defeat LSU on Saturday, the chances that Ole Miss could win the SEC West decrease dramatically, given that the Rebels already lost the head-to-head matchup in Tuscaloosa. However, if LSU wins against Alabama, things get extremely interesting at the top of the West.<\/p>\n<p>Given that LSU also has a conference loss and it was head-to-head against Ole Miss, LSU would still need Ole Miss to drop a game in order to win the West, even if it defeats Alabama.<\/p>\n<p>While Ole Miss has a difficult matchup themselves this week, an LSU win over Alabama would put the Rebels in control of their own destiny.
