Stidham will be the next great transfer quarterback — maybe in the SEC

If you watch any of the four high-profile games in the SEC this Saturday here’s what you’re going to see: Quarterbacks who previously played at other Power 5 conference schools.

Purdue transfer Austin Appleby is taking over for Alabama transfer Luke Del Rio as Florida travels to Tennessee.

Oklahoma transfer Trevor Knight has Texas A&M on a roll as the Aggies get set for Arkansas in Arlington.

LSU is also now led by a transfer from Purdue, as Danny Etling is set to make his first road start in the SEC at Auburn.

And the league’s best quarterback, Ole Miss senior Chad Kelly, is a Clemson transfer who’s in desperate need of a win against Georgia.

If you’re looking for the next great transfer quarterback, look no further than Jarrett Stidham. As a freshman at Baylor, Stidham completed 69 percent of his passes with 12 touchdowns and 2 interceptions. In his first start he threw for 419 yards and three touchdowns in addition to running for another score.

Stidham is being heavily recruited by Auburn and is expected to enroll in the college of his choice in January.

Whether he’s in the SEC or not, Stidham will immediately resume his role as one of the top dual-threat quarterbacks in the country.
