Coastal Bank and Trust Player of the Week: Tamaurice Smith

CoastalPotWUSETHISONEMOBILE, Ala. (WNSP) – Every week WNSP’s High School Football team will acknowledge one player for his outstanding performance on the field.

This week’s winner is St. Paul’s Tamaurice Smith. The senior two-way star led the Saints to a 28-21 victory on the road against the Jackson Aggies. Offensively, he finished with 114 yards on 17 carries and three scores. On the defensive side of the ball, he had two interceptions — one of which was run back for a touchdown in the fourth quarter. He accounted for all four of St. Paul’s touchdowns!

Smith is committed to play defensive back at Memphis next season. He chose the Tigers over offers from Appalachian State, Southern Mississippi and Ball State.

St. Paul’s (5-1, 3-0) continues region play next week as they return home to host the Citronelle Wildcats. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Friday, October 7.

Congratulations again to Tamaurice Smith!
